Business/ Credit Card Pocket Tutorial

Screenshot2011-05-26at8.20.53PM-2011-05-26-10-58.png
This tutorial started with an email from a customer:
“Hi Leah,
I got all the patterns they are great.  I made up the mini purse,  but added a small rectangle to the lining for credit cards.  It only took a scap of fabric and a minute to insert and the friend I made it for is delighted because she intends to bring it clubbing instead of a big hand bag.  I thought this might be a handy tip for other people ( I did the same with the wristlet purse for myself and it is  perfect).
Sorry if this is not the right way to go about telling you this,  I'm new to Etsy and I'm not sure what's what yet.  I really love your purse patterns and I look forward to new ones !
Regards,
Helen”

That is a great tutorial. I want to make purses and totes and love to do pockets, and this is a great way to add them.

What a great idea. I made a felt case a couple years ago and it has seen its better days. I could add this to my laptop cover and have everything in one place. Thanks for a great idea!

Sweet Coin Purse Tutorial for Teacher Gifts

This time of year is so special to me because I get to show my gratitude for all of the hard work that goes into teaching my daughters. I love to make handmade gifts and this year is no exception. Since money does not grow on trees around here, I looked at my stash (I keep my scraps in hat boxes ) and tried to see what I had a lot of; small zippers, trims, Peltex strips ( from making iPad cases ), fabric scraps and some hardware for key fobs. So I set to work.  Materials: Plastic multipurpose 5" Zipper  Fabric Scraps Lightweight interfacing 808 Pellon Trims (We clipped  key fobs  with 1.5" swivel hooks onto our coin purses . There are tons of tutorials on making key fobs .) Step 1: Print out the Coin Purse Template  PDF.  Cut 2 main fabric, cut 2 lining and 2 interfacing using the template.  Optional: Cut a 2"X2" square of your choice main fabric or lining. This strip of fabric is used to clip a key fob to your coin purse later....
