My Easter Dress

Over the weekend I spent a lot of time sewing. I finished some projects that had been on my sewing table for weeks. I also bought this mint green fabric from Hawthorne Threads . It arrived on Friday afternoon just in time for me to wash Friday night and cut Saturday. The dress is made from the Washi Dress Pattern from Made by Rae , no sleeves and a white sash ribbon that ties in the back. Thank you to my friends who follow Sew Spoiled on Facebook for helping me decide on the sleeveless dress. I pinned the dress onto the dress form and got suck! Should I add sleeves or not? Luckily everyone's comments helped me decide and I am so thankful. This dress looks like spring to me. The cotton feels soft and drapes well.  Thanks again!

How to Download Your Etsy ePatterns

Once you purchase an ePattern, how do you download your pattern? There are 3 different ways! #1. After you finish the transaction, this page above will pop open. Click on the View Your Files link and download the epattern. #2. If you did not open it there, Etsy sends you an email with the link!!  #3. If you still did not get to the files you can click  Your Account, Purchases, Files Ready to Download.  The download page looks like this. You will click the download button and it will download the pattern directly to your computer.  Not all PDF pattern sellers are using this method. I like it because you no longer do you have to wait on me. You can download the pattern when you are ready to sew! Best wishes and tons of stitches!

Thirty One Skirt with a Sew Spoiled Twist

I like my Thirty One bag but it lacks pockets. It only has 2 pockets inside and none outside. I created a new skirt for this bag. Two slip pockets on either side!  Outside pockets are useful for your phone or sunglasses.   They wrap around the both sides of the bag. Keeping the contents inside the pocket snug with elastic to gather the top of the pocket.

Vinylize Rain Boots Tutorial

I love hand me downs. These rain boots were give to us by our cousins. They fit perfectly but needed some color. The girls and I decided to vinylize them with hot pink vinyl!!! Here is what you need if you want to personalize your own rain boots. Materials: Rain Boots Silhouette / Cricut Vinyl Contact paper Step 1: Measure the amount of space you have to work with and clean your rain boots. Step 2: Program Silhouette or cutting machine to cut the initials or vinyl out. I only used their first initial because their boots were so small, I only had 2" to work with. Step 3: Place contact paper over the design and peel off. Now it is ready to stick on the rain boots. Step 4: Stick the vinyl directly to the rain boots and rub the contact side with a plastic gift card. Step 5: Peel the contact paper off the boot.  You are done! Have fun personalizing your rain boots!

Emily Bag

This was my weekend project. It almost didn't happen. First, I found this cute pattern by iThinkSew.com, it is called the Emily Bag . It is large and spacious!! Since the bag is so large, it takes up a yard of fabric for the exterior and another yard for the interior. Finding a full yard of anything in my stash is hard to find, so I cut the exterior out of tan leather, Amy Butler's Angelica in Zinc  and cork fabric for the handles. The interior is off white fabric. The pattern is great but I really had trouble working with the leather this time. It was thicker and it took the entire project to find the correct tension of the thread, needle, etc.. I love how it finally turned out. The bag is perfect for a day trip. I used it today for school but I think the beach is calling my name! Best Wishes and Tons of Stitches!

Joyful Jumper Tutorial, with Side Zipper

Step 2: First cut... 4 Bodice pieces, add a 1/2" to one side for side zipper installation.  2 skirt panel measuring width of fabric 44" X the desired length. (I used 23" for size 8 and 19" for size 6.)  2 straps measuring 3"X 7" (for size 8) or 3"X6" (for size 6) ✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄ Step 3: Iron the straps.
