Everyday Cardigan in Turquoise

Once I find a pattern I like, it is common for me to make many items from the same design. The first time is usually a test run and I find out new techniques. The second try is almost always better! I can make it faster and can zip through the process. This knitting pattern is called the Everyday Cardigan  Lisa Clarke. I adore the button band however this time my button band wants to turn in. It might be because of the type of yarn I used, Red Heart Super Saver Yarn. It is very economical only costing $5 per skein . I also only needed 3 skeins. This is very cost-effective, however, my first Everyday Cardigan which was made out of wool did a better job laying flat after blocking. Red Heart Super Saver Yarn is an all-purpose medium worsted weight yarn that is ideal for afghans, sweaters, and accessories. It is machine wash warm, tumble dry low, do not use bleach, do not iron, dry cleanable. It is 100% acrylic, Dye-Lot. #0512 Turquie.

Peek A Boo Mittens

Peekaboo Mitts pattern by Abi Gregorio  is a wonderful knitting project that takes just a little bit of time and scrap yarn. I used the magic loop method  to make these peekaboo mittens. This is a good first project to learn how to use this method of knitting. Instead of double pointed needles,  I use the one long circular needle. I use this method on sleeves, socks and now mittens. This yarn looks like candy to me! Perfect for my 9 year old. I made a pair for myself too in stormy grey. I enjoyed being able to make something quickly, usually I am slow when it comes to knitting. These make great gifts for anyone. If you need to make a larger size choose a heavier weight yarn.  Well, I am off to make some more mittens! Enjoy!

Antrorse SweaterPattern by Shannon Cook

I love my new Antrorse Sweater . It feels soft and warm. It is also washable!!!! I think next time I wear it, I will wear my skinny jeans and boots. Each time I knit, I can see how much better I am getting because the fabric is more consistent. I have also learned how to fix mistakes. Mistakes are going to happen but if you know how to fix them, then you are better off. I still have a lot to learn but this sweater is so much better than the first time I knit this pattern. Knitting takes a lot longer for me to complete a project but I love that I can take my craftiness anywhere. I adore sewing but being able to do both knitting and sewing is wonderful. These buttons are all that I could find in my stash. I might have to look for different buttons. Yarn: Vanna's Choice, Lion's Brand, color charcoal grey. Needles: US 10.5 to get the right gauge. Buttons: Vintage metal buttons with eagles.

Everyday Cardigan in Cream Finished!

I have finished my    Everyday Cardigan by Lisa Clarke . It has actually been done for a while because it is such a fast knitting project. I can see how you could easily make a few of these in different colors. I know I have told you that there is no button band on this cardigan but I can't tell you how wonderful it felt when I did not have to go back and make one. The buttons are actually leather! I fell in love with the color and left the store thinking they were dark wood. However, when I got into my car I realized they were leather. Instead of returning them I decided to go with it and kept them for the project.  It is a close-fitting sweater and since I hardly ever button up my cardigans it works great! I think if I made this for a friend or someone else I might go up a size, just to make sure the size would be comfortable. I like my sweaters to be close fitting and I tend to wear t-shirts under my sweaters. If you wear a lot of button-up shirts again you...
