Monogramming Inspiration

My sister just moved into her beautiful dream home and asked for me to monogram some towels for her. These are the finished product. I am so glad that everything turned out so well. I love the ladder made from repurposed wood and the grey floors. It is fun to help someone get the finished result that they were looking for. Sure, the towels would have looked great without the monogram but the design puts it over the top. I found the design letter here, at Great Notions Design . Sometimes choosing a letter monogram can be daunting with all of the choices you have. As you probably already noticed I did not hoop the towel, only the interfacing. I used a baste stitch first to hold the interfacing, towel and water soluble topper together. I know most people do not do it this way but I really believe it is the best way to embroider. Best wishes and tons of Stitches!

Sew Spoiled Wristlets!

Every year in the spring I make a ton of these wristlets . They make great gifts for any occasion. The hardest part about creating them is having to give them away. Last spring I created this easy tutorial on how to create a should/ wristlet strap.   It really helps to have the ability to use it both ways. The fabric is called Amelia Paisley, "Release it or Bless it." I saw it and fell in love. I bought two yards without knowing how I would put it to use. These are all colors I love to wear in the spring. I bought different colored zippers to install in each wristlet. The lining is Michael Miller's pinhead dots in stone. If you want to make some of these adorable wristlet you can find the pattern here .

Introducing the Kenna Tote Available Soon

This is a new Sew Spoiled Kenna Tote ePattern available August 2013! I love the tall exterior pockets on either side of the tote, as well as the storage space inside for all of your things. The exterior is made from Duck Canvas and the interior is a fun flowery print I found at Joann's . In the pattern you will learn how to create a zipper pocket and a slip pocket. I was told by my niece, this size it perfect for school. At her school each student receives an iPad to study with, so she doesn't need a backpack. She needs just a tote for her iPad and writing supplies.  I am also working on making a few college themed totes. You can find canvas in any color so it would be easy to make team totes for local schools. Team fabric is fun to line the interior of the Kenna tote. This fall I am sure to sport an alumni Tote from East Carolina University, Go Pirates!
