My Easter Dress

Over the weekend I spent a lot of time sewing. I finished some projects that had been on my sewing table for weeks. I also bought this mint green fabric from Hawthorne Threads. It arrived on Friday afternoon just in time for me to wash Friday night and cut Saturday. The dress is made from the Washi Dress Pattern from Made by Rae, no sleeves and a white sash ribbon that ties in the back. Thank you to my friends who follow Sew Spoiled on Facebook for helping me decide on the sleeveless dress. I pinned the dress onto the dress form and got suck! Should I add sleeves or not? Luckily everyone's comments helped me decide and I am so thankful. This dress looks like spring to me. The cotton feels soft and drapes well.

Yes, I did shirr but now I wish I had used just one piece of elastic at the back bodice edge. There is always next time. I was a little bummed, it was too cold to even wear for Easter.

How to Line an A-Line Skirt Tutorial

 After you find an A-line skirt pattern , I am using  One Yard Wonders 101  template . Make a muslin of your skirt! It only takes a few minutes to make a muslin version. Just baste stitch the side seams and make adjustments for your hips. Once your template is right you can make all the skirts your heart desires, so it is important to get the perfect fit first. Now we are ready to cut the "good" fabric and sew! ---------------------------------- ---------------------------------- ---------------------------------- ---------------------------------- Flip the skirt right side out and put it on!! Fun in the Sun Mermaid Tutorial

Sewing Materials: 1/4 yard of Lycra or  5T or larger old swimsuit Thread Stretch Needle (helps) Sewing Machine and Sewing Notions Print the PDF patterns pieces out and tape them together. ✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄ ✄✄✄✄ ✄✄ Step 1: Cutting Layout-  Place the templates over the fabric and cut. ✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄ ✄✄✄✄ ✄✄ Step 2:   Fold the top edges of the mermaid tail and sew across. ✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄✄ ✄✄✄✄ ✄✄ Step 3: Place the mermaid tale pieces right sides together.
