Sewing Patterns to Make in 2016

Sewing Patterns

I have my eye on a few sewing patterns to make. Some of these are my sewing table now! Can't wait to set to work on these adorable garments!  I just need to start shopping for the perfect fabrics!
What are you going to make in 2016?
These look fun to wear. The flare or bell bottom is making a come back with this adorable pattern.
I wear skirts every week, doesn't matter what the weather is. I do have to have pockets. This pattern not only has pockets but you can make it a mini skirt like this or add an extra length to make it a longer skirt. I will be making this short version in corduroy!
With Teiks shoes being so popular, I think I am going to try making my own ballet flat. I am going to buy some vegan leather and test this pattern out!
Girl Charlee has a great selection of vegan fabrics. I could make a bag to match and be set! This sewing pattern looks well written and fun to try out!
This is one jeans pattern I am looking at testing out. I have to be honest, I am a little scared of making jeans. I have never had a pair of jeans fit right, so I am not sure if I could create a perfect pair of jeans. I am up to the challenge.

The Out and About Dress Pattern is on my sewing table as I type this post. I need fabric for this dress pattern.
I am thinking about sewing one in stretch velvet knit. I think it would look great as a winter dress. It has pockets!!! It will also look great with a pair of tights and boots, layered with a warm sweater!

Third jean pattern to attempt. Yup, still scared.
This looks like a nice top. I might have to shape the sides of it because my chest is smaller but I think it will look great!
I am determine to sew jeans this new year.
What sewing patterns are you eyeing for the new year?

Sweet Coin Purse Tutorial for Teacher Gifts

This time of year is so special to me because I get to show my gratitude for all of the hard work that goes into teaching my daughters. I love to make handmade gifts and this year is no exception. Since money does not grow on trees around here, I looked at my stash (I keep my scraps in hat boxes ) and tried to see what I had a lot of; small zippers, trims, Peltex strips ( from making iPad cases ), fabric scraps and some hardware for key fobs. So I set to work.  Materials: Plastic multipurpose 5" Zipper  Fabric Scraps Lightweight interfacing 808 Pellon Trims (We clipped  key fobs  with 1.5" swivel hooks onto our coin purses . There are tons of tutorials on making key fobs .) Step 1: Print out the Coin Purse Template  PDF.  Cut 2 main fabric, cut 2 lining and 2 interfacing using the template.  Optional: Cut a 2"X2" square of your choice main fabric or lining. This strip of fabric is used to clip a key fob to your coin purse later....
