When I was little, my mom and I would make a new dress for every school year. I haven't done much sewing of clothing for myself since that became uncool and I would like to try it again.

I never end up sewing for myself-always my kids, so it would be nice to make something for me!
Maybe a dress... or shirt

I made a knit blouse one Sunday afternoon - and it was perfect! I had been hesitating to use the pattern & fabric for a year, but it worked out wonderfully. Would love to try some more things!

I would love to make myself a skirt or dress, so far I have only made clothes for my kids.

I have made a skirt for myself, but it was not the best. I would really like to make my own clothing though.

I always like to think about how much I've 'grown' since I first started sewing. My first project I managed to make 3 sizes too big and sew one of the legs to the shorts inside out.

I'm taller than average so I learned how to sew so I could have skirts and dresses that fit me. My biggest undertaking so far was sewing my wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses. This book looks like it would be a lot of fun to use.

I would love to be able to make pants and skirts for myself. I am only 5'2" and everything is always to long!!

I dreamed for weeks last month about a pair of linen pants and patterns for them...literally, dreamed every other night of linen pants! So, last week I decided to go out and make my "dream" a reality =) I am now the proud owner of a pair of really wrinkly linen pants that I made myself. I guess now I have to learn how to iron!

I love sewing but usually end up sewing for others. Now I've decided to sew up my own summer wardrobe. I've got a nice stash of fabrics but need some wonderful patterns to go with them. It will be nice to have clothes that are stylish and fit my taller frame well.

I have sewn many things for myself in the past...not so much lately. This book looks like it has some great ideas.

As a young girl, my mom and I spent many hours together while she taught me how to sew on her machine. This machine only did a straight stitch, no reverse, no zig zag, no fancy stitches at all. I still have that machine today. Sewing has always been a common 'thread' (ok, pun intended) in my life, through the friends I've made, people I've met, activities I've done, and has always made me happy. Now I'm teaching my children to sew, and reliving my past again. My sewing room has my embroidery machine, sewing machine, serger, Cricut, and many other craft items....it's my oasis in our house :)

I used to sew a lot of my own clothing when I was a teenager, but sort of dropped off over the years. Have lost some weight in the last year and started sewing for myself again. It's so fun to wear stuff that I've made!
Thanks for the giveaway!

So far I have attempted at making a few things, a tunic-y top that didn't come out very well and a Heather Bailey wrap skirt. The skirt turned out well! I also tempted at a dress but totally picked the wrong fabric and got burned out on the project. I have oggled this book in the store and I definitely need a copy!

I've borrowed this book from the library...twice! I'd love to have one of my own so I'd have time to make one of the fabulous creations. Thanks for the chance to win this great giveaway.

Here on Cape Cod, we're starting to see the spring robins -- happy spring to everyone!

I would absolutly LOVE to win this book! My only try at sewing clothes was when I tried to make a fleece jacket for my husband to keep him warm when he went fishing. It was an epic fail as I didn't understand that a ready to wear large in the stores is not the same as a pattern large. It ended up being big enough to fit 2 of him. LOL! I have always wanted to sew for myself but it intimidates me. The first thing I would try with this book would be the skirt that you made. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
My last dress had to be a patchwork dress, since Burda's patterns are made for women with small breasts... I added some stripes of the "skirt" part to the solid one. At the end, it fits and looks so nice ;o).
Thank you for the giveaway, I am so curious about this book...
I have some beautiful vouile from the innocent Crush line and I cannot wait to make a dress out of it. now where to find the time!!!

I've been sewing since I was a child. But lately I seem to make more things for my toddler. I can't remember the last time I sewed clothing for myself. I need to remedy that soon.

I recently made a sheath dress for myself. It was a fairly complicated pattern and I'm a novice. It took a lot of time and I had to unpick and resew a lot of seams. Ultimately, I ended up with a wonky zipper and a slightly-too-tight dress. I learned a lot, though, and it's pretty!
I've made a tunic and a halter top for myself, but I mostly sew for my daughter. I'm searching for some flexible patterns to turn into maternity wear now though!

Since I am new to sewing, I think I would like to make something simple but that I could wear immediately, like a skirt. Of course, making my own dresses would be wonderful. An ipad case is probably also at the top of my list as a beginner.

Oh! I just started sewing a few months ago. My big challenge has been having narrow shoulders and ending up with so many items so far that don't fit through that area correctly. That book looks like it has some beautiful items, thank you for the giveaway!

I have made dresses for my girls but nothing for myself yet. I would really love to make some tunics for myself though! I have a very large (um) chest :) and have a hard time finding tunics that fit well!

I'll admit, I don't sew for myself very often. Maybe this book would be the motivation I need! :)

I love sewing but I've only made a few projects before. I can't wait to do TONS of sewing this spring and especially this summer when I have lots of free time because I'll be off of school! This book looks like it has a lot of really cute projects, they'd be just the thing to inspire me!

i was nervous to sew my first garment - a top with border print fabric. I of course had to pick something tricky for my first time. It fit terribly but I still wore it with pride. It only got better after that!

I want to start!

It would be a change to have patterns for myself.
I have made plenty of bags and accessories but I haven't sewn anything to wear yet. If I was planning to sew for myself I think it would be a skirt. Thanks for the chance of a giveaway (ps if I win I am more than happy to pay the postage) xx

A year ago I first touched a sewing machine. I started teaching myself how to sew but then I wanted to make clothes. I opened a book and it looked like complicated math to me. So I took a few sewing classes and now I m making skits and dresses since a few months. I love it! But feel like I can learn a lot LOT more. Therefore, thanks for this giveaway chance!

I have never made clothes for myself, I think I need a little more confidence in my skills to try it... I buy Burda magazines now and then but it seems so hard! I think I would go for a shirt or tunic for my first project, since it's what I wear most.

A neighbor taught me how to sew and I made a lot of my clothes in high school and early work years..... then children and LOTS of costumes, clothes and fun toys were made. I love the idea of a book with patterns instead of just one pattern.

I sew mainly for my daughter's but would love to sew more for myself. I've made a few tops that turned out great, a dress that looks like a muumuu (that I never finished, using Amy Butler fabric...oops) Sewing for me is always an adventure:)

When I was about seven, my mom forced me to learn to sew. She loves sewing... I absolutely hated it. Now I have three kids, 4, 2 & 4 months, and a new reason to re-learn how to sew. Once I practice on them, I'll start making stuff for myself, I just know it!

I would love to make myself new tops (actually start from scratch, not just upcycle something! I get bored with my clothes very easily and really want to get comfortable making necklines and sleeves!
I love Christine's books! This would be a great addition for my library. I have recently ventured from the world of sewing childrens clothing into the "adult" world and her books are always such a big help and patterns are so versitile!!! I would love to win this!

I made a skirt for myself. Every time I wear it I just love knowing that I made it. The best part is when I get compliments.

What a terrific give a way. I really like the skirt. I have been making skirts but like the wrap around idea to avoid zippers and elastic. Great idea for spring, there are some really great fabrics out there!

Sweet Coin Purse Tutorial for Teacher Gifts

This time of year is so special to me because I get to show my gratitude for all of the hard work that goes into teaching my daughters. I love to make handmade gifts and this year is no exception. Since money does not grow on trees around here, I looked at my stash (I keep my scraps in hat boxes ) and tried to see what I had a lot of; small zippers, trims, Peltex strips ( from making iPad cases ), fabric scraps and some hardware for key fobs. So I set to work.  Materials: Plastic multipurpose 5" Zipper  Fabric Scraps Lightweight interfacing 808 Pellon Trims (We clipped  key fobs  with 1.5" swivel hooks onto our coin purses . There are tons of tutorials on making key fobs .) Step 1: Print out the Coin Purse Template  PDF.  Cut 2 main fabric, cut 2 lining and 2 interfacing using the template.  Optional: Cut a 2"X2" square of your choice main fabric or lining. This strip of fabric is used to clip a key fob to your coin purse later. We used a 1.5
