If you like this purse but you are not sure how to make it here are a few places to get some ideas. The first place is Creative Little Daisy where she shows you how to put the patchwork together. Autum is very talented and a great teacher. The original idea came from a Japanese craft book called Machine Made Patchworks. The second blog is Dresden Petal where Angie even provides a template to use. I love her cute pockets inside too!
I have found that when I patchwork the pieces together the bottom fans out too, which can make your purse sag in the middle. I like to cut the bottom of the outer shell straight across so the purse does not sag in the middle.
Have you tried this patchwork purse? What changes did you make? What fabric did you use? Did you use 8 or 7 panels on each side of the outer shell? What kind of handles did you use (one or two)? I look forward to hearing from you and maybe seeing some pictures too. If you are a member of Flickr join us at Sew Spoiled Designs Group, I would love to see your creations!
